Welcome to Westview Elementary!
Westview Elementary is a Pre-K–5 school in Hamilton County that proudly serves more than 600 students. We are a warm and caring school family committed to helping every student learn, grow, and succeed!
Our school emphasizes academic growth, literacy, positive behavior, family involvement, and creating an environment where every student feels supported and valued.

School Aged Child Care (SACC)
TIMES: Before-care starts at 6:00 a.m. After-care ends at 6:00 p.m.
SACC RATES:
A $20 registration fee per child. This must be paid before your child can attend.
$6 Before-Care $9 After-Care $10 half day $20 full day
*Sibling and HCDE employee discounts available.*
Make checks payable to the Hamilton County Schools. Please write your child’s name on all checks.
You can also pay by cash, debit card, or credit card at each of the child care sites or online HERE. A convenience fee of $3.00 will be charged on each credit/debit card or online transaction.
Transportation (Pick up/Drop off)
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Child care staff greet students signed up for before school care as early as 6:00 am. Westview teachers and staff greet students arriving as early as 7:30 am.
At 7:30 a.m. students report to:
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade go to the gym
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade go to their classrooms
Breakfast is served every morning from 7:30 – 7:50. Students arriving after 7:50 (with the exception of a late bus) will be given an alternate “breakfast to go” that they can take and eat in the classroom. The cost is $2.00 and .30 for the reduced price.
EARLY DISMISSAL
We will not call children for early dismissal after 2:30 pm except in an emergency.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
-Westview Elementary is a Tier II school. We will dismiss approximately 30-90 minutes after Tier I school (East Hamilton).
-Emergency information is kept on file in the office. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide us with up-to-date information in case of an emergency. During registration, you filled out an early-emergency dismissal form. Please update if changes occur.
MORNING CAR RIDER LINE
To provide safety for students as they exit their car, we only operate 1 lane of traffic in the morning. A staff member will direct you when to stop and proceed through the line.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
Students will be dismissed at 3:00 pm. No child will be called for dismissal between 2:30 pm – 3:00 pm except in emergencies.
Students must bring a written note or a message can be sent through Parent Sqaure to your child’s teacher if they are not going home in their usual manner. When the request involves bus transportation, the note must be brought to the office in the morning to get a bus pass to give to the bus driver. Do not call the office on a daily basis to change a student’s way of going home.
AFTERNOON CAR RIDER LINE
Those picking up students will be directed to enter the car rider line creating 2 lanes and proceed to the pick up points. As dictated by the Fire Marshall, there should be no parking in the pick up line before 2:30 p.m. This is a direct violation of the fire safety code.
Our dismissal procedure is specifically designed for the safety of our children. Parents must adhere to the following:
- You must have a car tag to pick up your child in the car rider line. If you do not have a tag, you must park and come to the office and show a valid ID to sign the student out. If a designated person picks up your child/children, please be sure that they have a car tag. If they do not have a car tag, they must park, present a valid ID to check out the student through the office, and acquire a tag. This designated person must be on your child’s approved check-out list..
- Please have your car tag visible while in the loading zone, and remove the tag once your child has entered the car.
- Remain in your vehicle while in the car line.
- A staff member will give you a signal when it is time to turn your engine on and proceed through the line.
- This procedure will be repeated until all children have been loaded.
- Parents will not be allowed to wait inside the building or park in the parking lot and walk over to pick up their child.
AFTERNOON BUS RIDERS
Each bus and van will be called individually, and the teachers on duty will escort the children to their respective bus or van.

Buses are expected to arrive within 10 minutes of their scheduled time. Please have students at their stops and ready to board the bus 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. The bus schedule can not allow more time to wait for tardy students or for students to exit personal vehicles. Hamilton County Schools transports more than 20,000 students to and from school each day. There are 251 daily bus routes covering 23,000 miles each day and 4.0 million miles annually. Our mission is to provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school daily.
Dress Code
WESTVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL’S
2026-2027 DRESS CODE
Westview Elementary School requires appropriate dress for students and staff. Excesses in attire, grooming, hairstyle, cosmetics, jewelry, and accessories tend to draw attention to the individual and thus distract from the learning, which is the main purpose of school.
Students wearing articles of clothing or accessories that are not permitted will be sent to the office. Parents will be called to bring replacement clothing. The unacceptable article of clothing will be returned to the student’s parents. Continued disregard of the dress code will result in further disciplinary action.
The dress code is as follows:
- Tennis shoes or rubber sole shoes must be worn every day.
- NO boots, crocs, sandals or flip-flops.
- Students are permitted to wear mid-thigh length shorts or skirts.
- NO athletic oversized shorts (basketball) or spandex/biker shorts.
- NO tops with spaghetti straps or crop tops.
- Hats or hoods pulled up, are not to be worn in the school building except on designated days.
- Students may wear sweatshirts or sweaters during the school day. Heavy coats and jackets will only be permitted during outside activities.
- Students wearing clothing or accessories that are not permitted will have parents called to bring replacement clothing.
Safety First
Safety at Westview Elementary is our first priority.
We believe school and student safety is a shared responsibility.
We have procedures in place to ensure that everyone is safe while at school.
Officer Turner
We are fortunate to have a full-time School Security Officer. Officer Turner will be on the school campus during each day. She will be consistently monitoring the school campus as well as building positive relationships with our students during the day.
Visiting Our School
All visitors must enter the building through the front entrance and sign-in through the front office before entering the building. Upon your first visit, be sure to have your driver’s license available so that we can scan through the Raptor System. Teachers will not be available to meet with parents at the beginning of the school day as teachers are preparing for class. All visitors must have a pre-scheduled meeting time.
All visitors must wear a name badge during school hours.
School Safety, a Shared Responsibility
We are counting on our families to help us make sure that students are safe during arrival and dismissal. Be vigilant at all times. Cars should move slowly through the car rider line, turn off motors while students are getting into cars in the loading zone, and watch for the signals to start your car and proceed from staff on duty.
Students should not be hanging out of the car windows when cars are moving.
Please refrain from parking in the fire lane between the hours of 8:00 A.M. – 2:30 P.M.
Safety Drills and Procedures
To remain safe and prepared, safety drills and procedures are in place that will be practiced in compliance with state mandates. Fire drills will occur monthly and two or more intruder and tornado drills will be conducted during the school year.
Related Arts
Westview Elementary Related Arts
Related Arts includes the subject areas of Art, WVE-Lab, Library, Music, and Physical Education. Your children will receive instruction in each of these subject areas one time per week. The instruction your children receive in these areas enriches their lives. Instruction in related arts promotes self-directed learning, sharpens the critical and creative skills of students and improves motivation, confidence and teamwork. It is our goal to provide high-quality, comprehensive arts education to all of our students.
Students are given grades in Art, Music, and Physical Education. Grades are based on skills, and participation. Related arts grades are part of the consideration for star and honor roll designation.
Parents, we ask that you encourage your students to do their best each and every day and contact the related arts teachers if you have a question or concern. We use Parent Sqaure and email as our official communication tools. Thank you for partnering with us to support your children’s instruction.
